I like it when I am given a choice in the actions that I could take. Of course when these choices involve dealing with my wife sometimes the choices are not all that good and even if I do feel like I came out on top there is always that small nagging thought that I have just been had. (Sorry for the intro that only married men might relate to)

Demanding Dragon is pretty much the same as the situations with my wife. On the outside you get a 5/5 flyer except that it does one more thing.It offers a target opponent a choice once it enters the battlefield. It deals 5 damage to them or they sacrifice a creature.

"A Knight's devotion to their stead goes only so far." The flavor text says.

I guess the outcome of this depends on your opponents board state. If they have extra creatures like tokens to spare then they sacrifice a 1/1 and not take damage.

However if they really need a creature to stay on the battlefield or their life totals are still up they might take the 5 damage.

Either way the Demanding Dragon will take something away from an opponent.

In a mono red deck or Boros deck where you could board wipe the battlefield clear with cards like Blasphemous Act or Day of Judgement you can at least ensure 5 damage from a target opponent who no longer have any creatures to sacrifice. And you also have a 5/5 Dragon that could potentially unblocked in the coming turns.

Yup. Just like my wife who demands something and in the end still gets something despite my complaints. Sigh.

I often feel that in the our pursuit to explain all of the science we often forget to explain things in a practical manner and something that Doctors can relay to their own patients. 

Patients normally do not care about their doctors vast command of the science only that they are able to understand their doctor as they say all of these things to them. 

As a Doctor listening to these lectures I hoped that there would be more discussion of pearls rather than trying to impress me with the command of the science. I cannot deny that some of the things are important to know but for me you should be presenting things that are relatable and practical to all of the attendees.

To be fair there really is no consensus as to what practice the attendees actually do and it is more of a shotgun approach and not really specific to let us say the Occupational Medicine practitioners.

It just seems to me that a lot of the lecturers seem to be in love with their own voices and forget to engage their audience. Well of course you can't be intelligent and be interesting too. Such is often not the case and many normal people are weirded out by smart people either because they talk to things beyond the lay persons grasp or just really plain boring.

I just wish there were fewer slides since these kind of events can really drag on and I dont know if there is an unspoken competition among lecturers to posses the most slides per lecture. So much so that some slides feel like a kage-bunshin of the other previouos slides.

I do hope that when it is my time to take the stage and do lectures like this that I will remember what I wrote here. Less slides. More engaging topics. More audience engagement.

Sana is a melancholic song of lost love and this MV will hurt you. I suggest you watch it till the very end as it might be a tad confusing at first.

Basically there are three scenes here that are shown not in chronological order. All of it will make sense in the end as you enjoy the sad music.

#1 Scenes where the girl is roaming and seemingly lost. Crying and calling to someone who ignores her calls.

#2 Scenes where the girl is given a bracelet and dating happily with a guy.They look so happy it is so sickeningly sweet.

#3 The last scene with another guy.

At the beginning of this MV the girl is reading a book and I ask you to wait for the next time this book appears when she leaves it in the restaurant.

Not to spoil anything but the song is supposedly sang by the guy at the very end of the video. The one who was waiting for his girlfriend to come home. The one who feels that she already has someone else because of the coldness she has shown toward him.

Just how did he confirm that she was cheating? Remember the book? He hands her the very same book at the end of the MV.

And in the scenes where the girl is calling? There are two theories about that she might be calling the guy he has dated or he is calling the guy who handed her the book. The guy she just hurt. Damn. This is all in the official MV.

After watching this you can watch the lyric video and see it from the point of view of the guy whom the girl cheated on. It is painful to watch knowing the events that already transpired in the original MV. The guy can be seen restlessly pacing and moving about as he walks all over the room. Painful.

Battlebond is almost here and I was so busy that ao have just begun to write about this now. The moment I looked at this card there was only one commander that I thought off. AZAMI!  

I have beem winning with this particular deck for the past weeks and I am excited to see how the Spell seeker will be a redundancy for cards like merchant scroll and mystical tutor.. 

Azami edh decks feature a lot of wizards that can land on the battlefield and just tap to draw a card in addition to their other etb effects. Spell seeker not only gets you a counter that you could put on your isochron scepter. It might get you that much needed spot removal or dramatic reversal or any spell that can trigger your paradox engine and untap all your nonland permanents. 

Since spellseeker herself is a wizard she adds more value by tapping and allowing you to draw a card with Azami already in play. So a tutor and a card draw in the right situation! I am excited for this update. The question now is in removing a card from that already value packed deck. Hmmmmm

Another viral video is one of an overweight woman who was caught sexually enticing either a lover or partner. The woman has been ridiculed for the most of part for being overweight and oddly enough for being horny and wanting their partner to do something about it.

I find this all sad. One is that this is obviously meant to be an intimate video not meant to be shared. It is between this woman and that person who is receiving this. There is a grave betrayal of trust on the womans trust as this supposedly secreted video has been put out for all the world to see. 

What people share in their private moments is none of our business and quite frankly whoever posted this had no business of posting this as well. Whatever possessed them to do so just goes to show what kind of people find amusing on the internet. I am deathly afraid for the future of mankind.

There was a question posted online about scenario where you have to choose between a red or blue door. Enter the blue door and you emerge 15 years in the future with 15 millions dollars. Or enter the red door, you emerge as the 10 year old you with all the knowledge that you have now. 

This was an easy one for me. I chose the red door. To be young and to be smart and know things.

The reason I would never choose the blue door is because of my age. I am now 41. I would be 56 and rich yes but the diseases that I have now may have progressed to the point that I might not get to enjoy those riches. And speaking of riches. Economies are always in flux and 15 million dollars 15 years from now might not actually be worth something. Consider future war or future global financial collapse. You could wake up in a future where the Yuan and yen are king.  You could have been rich but you simply got the wrong denomination.

Whereas waking as your 10 year old self might be challenging in the beginning. The scenario did not call for you to travel back in time, mainly just revert back to a younger you in the present time. Right now I am a practicing physician and have experiences in holding various enterprises aside from medicine. Prodigies are not unheard and a 10 year old who can pass the board exams and run businesses well that will sure to generate interest and. Ash flow. The kicker is that I am healthier and are farther away from death actually having the chance to correct health mistakes. Of course my 34 year old wife and 12 year old daughter would be in for a big shock. Id have to explain this really really carefully. Starting with , " you see there was this red door....

I can imagine all the specialties I can now take. Yeah. More time. Even now that is still what I need.

Arena rector is simply one of those creatures that you want to die. Why? Well it allows you to fetch for a planeswalker and put it into the battlefield.  While there are plenty of cards that can increase your chances of getting a planeswalker  like Domniarias Board the weatherlight, or. Call the Gatewatch this is the first time that this has appeared on a creature. Surely you can use the rector as an attacker that opponents may not block when they don't want it to die and help you get a planeswalker of your choice. 

So if you keep on piling statpumpers on it there is a probability that opponents will just let it pass. Until it probably begins to hurt. Or if you want to sacrifice it that is good as well. 

This version of the now mighty expensive Academy rector that gets you a much needed enchantment. This is one card that you would want to see as you rip into a battle bond pack. I know I will be looking for it.

Liquid Actor. Yeah sounds strange right? If you are reading this don't try and look it up. 

You were gone for awhile. You still searched for it didn't you? Do you feel like taking a bath now? Heeheeheh

A liquid actor is what you would call an entry level job for males in the japanese porn industry. Basically these are the guys who...ehem...donate their bodily fluids in the scenes that require a lot of bodily fluid on the female actresses. 

So after watching an interview of a previous japanese av idol she told the world that it was actually harder for male porn actors in japan. There are various degrees or stages that they can graduate to but they all start as liquid actors.

I imagined that it was always interesting if a guy was asked his work and he answered with, "Right now I am just a liquid actor but my dream is to rise up in this industry soon."  People unfamiliar with the term might scratch their head at the job title but with those who are currently sitting on the upper seats of japanese porn suddenly judge the liquid actor? 

Yeah. These are the things I think about when I try to distract myself from my other distractions. Or from thinking about how this one magic artist got his inspiration from. I might never know. That sure looks like a lot of liquid for one donor though.

HyolynXgray- Dally is one of those MVs that would make you stand up and take notice. Well I was sitting down while listening to it and I remember Grays ID in the opening and I know that I was in for a treat. I just didn't know how much of a treat. Hyolyn singing in that sexy voice of hers was one thing , her throwing all her caution to the wind and dancing provocatively. You would begin to suspect that this was not a kpop video with all the grinding, floor works and even a helicopter standing step that you would expect from a western MV but not in something as conservative as a Korean MV. 

One look at the mv and you would assume that this was a video of a girl who was actually telling her guy of all the sexy things that she wanted to do with him once they see each other in the flesh. Sort of like dont dally. I am waiting. 

The reality is a lot harsher as when you read the korean translated lyrics you realize that even with Grays sexy hook in his low tones you discover that this is actually a break up song. Yup a freaking break up song with a scorching mv that is meant to get certain ehem...reactions. 

I was tricked. They pulled it off. I am looking for to their next break up song. I am also wondering what mv concept they would pull if the song is actually sexually explicit. Hmmm. Someone doing taxes I suppose. Very sexy indeed.

We saw a Dragon able to produce other dragons in Lathliss now we are going to look at an Angel that I can only describe as Angelic Accord on a Stick.

Yup Wizards of the coast has decided to give Angelic Accord a 3/3 flying frame! At least it costs less at 3 mana but requires you to commit to white with the double plains requirement.

Another change is that it requires you to gain 5 or more life this turn but the end of each end step. Yup that is a possible 4/4 Angel each end step if you have the right life gaining tools. And the moment I saw this I just had to look at Trostani and nod in his direction. Angelic Accord and Resplendent Angel will both make it to his EDH deck. The Angels that Resplendent Angel is much better as well as it has both Flying and Vigilance. 

Now all you need to do is to have a creature like Serra's Ascendant swing in to gain life and voila! 2 4/4 Angels if you have the Resplendent Angel and Angelic Accord in play. If you have Trostani in play you also get 8 life!

Players always keep an eye out for updates that they can do to their existing decks when a new set rolls out. And this time around I was excited to know that there will be new dragons(well old dragons) coming back to lead commanders decks.

The first one that caught my eye isn't even an Elder Dragon but one that befits a queen and this is Lathliss , Dragon Queen. 

A 6 mana , 6/6 dragon that has flying. Of course I don't like her just for her body. I love her for the fact that she can literally birth another dragon for you and all you have to do is get another dragon into play. You end up with a 5/5 Red Dragon token with flying when another dragon enters the battlefield under your control.

And who would be happy to see the Queen? Aside from other dragons of course. It would be Zirilan of the Claw who could put Dragons directly on the battlefield! So what if they get exiled at the end of the turn? You still get a 5/5 one remaining to block or attack next turn.

Or how about having a Sneak attack into play where you just sneak your dragons for 1 red mana? If you have a Dragon Tempest into play as well. Well that is a lot of damage now isn't it? So let us say you were able to put down 3 6/6 dragons into play.(Assuming you already have Lathliss in play) The first one would trigger 1 6/6 creating a 5/5 dealing 2 damage , next dragon goes down and triggers creating a 2nd 5/5 and then 4 damage and the third 6/6 creates a 3rd dragon token for 6 damage. Since Dragon Tempest will grant these flying Dragons Haste that would be a total of 45 points of damage. Well not enough to kill with this the 6/6 dragons but what if you plopped down a Bogardan Hellkite or a Dragon Tyrant? What if you were able to cheat Utvara Hellkite? 

So much fun is in store with Lathliss.

It was one of those times that you feel you would be able to win. I can White Sun's Zenith and paid 6 mana for the X cost part of the spell which would normally just give me 6 2/2 Cats but with Trostani already out on the battlefield along with Doubling Season(the one I recently got from opening Battlebond packs).I netted a total of 12 cards and an upswing of 24 in my life. 

My opponent Jethro was already doing calculation in his head of how he could survive in this round and think of a way to win. We did the calculations as well and yes he has enough blockers to escape from lethal damage.

So when I drew into Rootborn defenses I just had to smile. This card looked good with the Day of Judgement which was already in my hand.

I cast the Sorcery speed Day of Judgment first and as a response both Jethro and I will draw a card but he would not be able to do anything in response. I cast the Rootborn defense to make my team indestructible until end of turn and kill off all of his blockers. 

It was scooping time after Trostani's last play.

Fromis_9 or From Idol School 9 isn't actually promoting as 9 members this comeback. They will be missing Gyuri who is currently participating in the survival program Produce48. Talk about hardcore. Surviving and debuting and then competing once more.

Now on to this wonderful video , You can divide it into parts where the girls are looking for cats , both big and small and the parts where the girls are actually the cats themselves. So yeah a whole lot of cats and cat references here.

Fromis_9 has impressed me with each of their comebacks , this 3rd one shows their pretty and cute sides.Well the cutest they have ever been since debuting. It would not surprise me to find one or two pretty members in a group , but a group that you can say that everyone is pretty like this. Now that is pretty rare.

I particularly like how emphasized Jisuns sleepy eyes wherever she appeared and I encourage them to do so. There are parts here where Chaeyoung annoys Jisun in the MV and they are adorable. Hayoung , their main vocal has one scene here that has her give out one of those satisfied reactions that makes her and her cuteness stand out. Their maknae Jiheon and main visual Nakyung has been continually improving in the looks department.

I really like the Orange top and Red Combo here even if it isn't fall just yet.Most of the time the girls are wearing shorts and school girl uniforms(as they are still in that stage). 

I like this concept and there are memorable dance steps here. The cutest one I guess is when they sing Seuri Seuri Seuri...wait for it. 

Over all this seems to be one of my favorite girl groups or at least until YooA and the rest of OMG come back in August for their Japan debut. Fromis9 is really promising.

There is a circulating Video of a supposedly Captain who was captured to be verbally abusing a woman while on a bus. Many Netizens have verbally abused him in the comments section as well but I feel that this mans reactions was all the we saw. The story is a bit incomplete. 

He seems to be complaining of something that has been done to him and like a referee in basketball we usually just see the retaliation and not the act that merited this action. Now we could pass judgment on him for being the way he is since there are other way of dealing with a dispute than verbally abusing your opponent. Nothing gets resolved in this way.

I am just for knowing what happened. Let us also reserve our judgments until we see the whole picture.

After being poisoned for the Nth time most of my opponents would ask me , "Is there a way to prevent the counters or remove them?"

As a Phyrexian I would smile my sweetest menacing smile and say, "None.Absolutely None."

Until now.

This card literally wiped the smile of my face and threatens to stop my Infecting ways cold in it's track. You see Suncleanser(which sounds a lot like a Laundry detergent) washes you free off the Phyrexian Oil that is slowly killing you. How annoying.

FOR A MEASLEY 2 FREAKING MANA!....Ehem...Let me compose myself a bit. Seriously 2 Mana 2 hose down one of the most powerful mechanics in all of magic. Why the hate?  All I actually is that All Will Be One through the oil. And now someone from Ixalan seems to know how to freaking cure it.

It works on players and creatures alike! Both have their counters removed.Of course I am only thinking of the implications of this card as a Phyrexian. No more Infecting once this comes into play. It is a good thing that this does not have Flash or Hexproof. And while the 1/4 body seems daunting to kill ,this is nothing a well-timed Dismember could not take care off.

So aside from Poison Counters what does else does this card do? Well it kind of hoses down other counter related shenanigans. Vorel hates the card. Skull Briar does as well. A creature can no longer have counters of any kind so Vorel can't double them and Skullbriar who does not lose counters regardless of one zone he is will lose those counters. Simic and Golgari creatures won't be affected as well. No more counters from Scavenge or Grafting with a creature targeted by Suncleanser. Damn. Those are my colors as well. Wow. I really hate this card.

Players who gain experience counters will lose them.Meren and Ezuri gives this a thumbs down. Oh and look those are Golgari and Simic commanders! Energy counters as well. So there are some benefits to it since it shuts down a creature who is energy dependent for its activated abilities. 

Overall there might be some benefits to this card but since most of my decks are affected I can't exactly say that I will be thrilled when it hits the battlefield. So much for spreading the Phyrexian Oil.

One of the things I considered while making my Tetsuko Umezawa , Fugitive deck was the kind of creatures that would give me the most bang for my buck. Well Tetsuko makes sure that creatures with 1 power or toughness gets through and the first creatures I thought of were the artifact Infect creatures from Mirrodin. 

It was great to finally get back to my Infecting ways as the elder Phyrexian of my playgroup. Of course Tetsuko had other aspects in the deck that might let it survive in a multiplayer environment. 

My early games didn't win with Tetsuko at all as I had Thassa help me with those creatures that had more than 1 power and toughness. My first actual win in a multiplayer setting came on the back of a Corpse Curr equipped with a Sword of Vengeance made unblockable by Thassa's ability. It took exactly 4 turns to finish off my friends Cheska and Yo as they ran out of gas and could no longer draw into a card that can deal with a 5/3 Unblockable Infect creature.

I must acknowledge though that in this game the biggest threat was the Muldrotha deck that Janry brought to the table and it was with great effort that we had taken cared of him. Otherwise it was almost a lock as he would simply kill anything on the battlefield. He had a boompile that had a 50/50 chance of destroying all of our non-land permanents. And so when I proliferated him to his last poison counter he did so. I was only left with Thassa on my side of the battlefield.

The result was that I was able to cast the Corpse Curr and Sword in the succeeding turns to secure the win.The Tetsuko deck stills needs a lot of work. I am glad to work on it though.

I was trying to listen to the second song from Girlkind the other day and about 18 seconds in the song a familiar structure appeared. It was the spires of the Iglesia ni Cristo on a clean street. 

The MV was also shot with the back drop of coconut trees and what looks like a pristine beach. In that shot at around 1:04 you would see what looks like a man and a child walking towards the beach on the left side of the screen.

There are scenes where you can see the car plates , one of them a Purple Mustang with AEX 251 and one where the same car is switched with another plate this time ACZ 146. Hmmm this just seems so familiar.

At around 2:02 you see one of the girls in a sand filled area that looks pretty much like the sand from the Lahar affected areas of Mt. Pinatubo. And you see a structure that seems to be buried on the left side of the screen.

At around 2:16 you see a Do Not Block Driveway sign typically put up in one country. 

I am thinking that this was shot in the Subic area but I really can't be sure. There was even a drone shot of a side cliff where the girls were dancing. And all of these shots looked good which makes me wonder , do we really need Koreans to show us how lucky we are to have all these good looking things in our country?

About Girlkind I am happy that they shot their MV here and the song is actually catchy. The two rappers of this group are good as well.

I woke up under the stars One night
