It is easier to accept the negative

The worst that a person presents

It is harder to see the good things

especially when it is all covered in filth

II

It is hard to embrace

Hard to understand despite you knowing it is there

The decent and the good

All underneath the proverbial hood

III

We all have fallen victim to this allure

Of accepting the bad things

To break the cycle we should start

but no one really knows where

Maybe to embrace that filthy person

you see in the mirror each day.
