A Shark Lesson

A Shark Lesson
by:

After watching a lot of sharks on the History channel this long Holiday season I am reminded of how strong and fearsome these creatures really are. One person even said about a Great White Shark that "If a shark wants to eat you , you can't do anything about a 400 pound animal that can swim very fast."

It is quite true that the sharks reputation is fearsome and after seeing a couple of them in open waters I tend to agree but these animals have a reason why they need so much food. Sharks need to constantly be swimming and therefore need to be constantly feeding as well. Yeah its a fish , it has to swim right? But in the case of some Sharks , their gills are situated at the bottom side of their bodies , if for any reason they stop swimming and they drop to the bottom of the ocean then it means death. Their own bodies crushing the very gills that should enable to them live. These creatures are built tough and can take a lot of damage but they have that one weakness. So I often say to my friend , Sink or Swim , Swim or die.

This year I face tremendous pressure and it can be so easy to throw in the towel. I can say this is just too hard or nothing is really going to happen if I stay in this course of action. I can sink to the bottom of the ocean like a shark , forgotten and dead or I can keep on swimming and be the fearsome thing that people see in me( I dont know how they see it though). The choice is logically simple and the Fish Dory in Finding Nemo sang it very nicely. "Keep on swimming , swimming , Swimming."

And so I will....
