"Midweek Magic 2019 #20: Saved by Abundance"

It was a rainy day and it was the only games of the week. Adrian with the Controlling Azorius Augustus deck and (because it was raining and I had to grab a fat pack box in my car in a hurry) my Omnath, Locus of Mana.
The match up with Augustus proved quite problematic but when I was able to ramp my land properly and was on the verge of threatening an Elemental rampage. Adrian pushed the Geddon button and all my lands were gone.
But the turn before he did this I was looking at a 4 mana enchantment spell that I am sure was not there before. I was sure that I did not update my deck for awhile. So in reality this must have already been in my original deck but I was not able to draw it. Not odd since the deck featured a lot of land ramp and spells that made sure you had lands coming in a constant basis. So I decided to play the enchantment called Abundance and little did I know that it would save me the game.
Adrian destroyed our lands because he assessed that I had more shenanigans to cast if I had more mana. The thing is I had no monsters to cast or powerful spells in my hand. Normally a deck like Augustus would survive the Geddon since it had a lot of mana rocks and I saw in the earlier games that he had a lot of them. When he cast Geddon this game however he didn't have one and I believe that he did not save a land first because he perceived that my Omnath threat was imminent.
So what happened was that it was a race to put lands on the battlefield first. With Abundance already in play all I had to do was choose land and then I would reveal the top cards of my library until I found one and put it in my hand and then played it.
While I consistently found lands Adrians side of the battlefield struggled to produce. The game ended when I was able to put down a Temple of the False God and subsequently cast a Tooth and Nail with Entwine looking for my Kiki-Jiki and Zealous Conscripts.
