Lavinia is all about giving all your opponents a big headache. The lawmaker is about to lay down a lot of magic that hinders big spells and spells that are cheated into play.

Costing a mere 2 mana of Azorius Colors Lavinia first looks at the number of lands an opponent has and says you can't cast non-creatures spells whose CMC is greater than the lands you have. So even if you manage to get a Sol Ring out and a Signet on turn one you still have to wait for the right number of lands to play any 4 or 5 mana spell that you should have been able to play earlier due to your acceleration. Lavinia says no.

The other thing that she shuts down is spells that were cast without using any mana. Affinity will take a hit as those rely on a lot of free spells. Spells that cost zero mana. Spells coming from Spell weaver adept or those that come from Etali. Spells that you should have been able to abuse using Omniscience. Lavinia says no to all of them.

Now scratch your head. And hopefully you have the right number of lands to cast your removal. Otherwise sit back. It is going to be a loooooong game.
