When the last of the beacons are extinguished

Long after their embers have died

When the last of those mighty pillars

have all but turned into dust

Do you expect me to call your name?

To shout it out in this darkness?

Do you see me doing that mighty one?

Do you see me groveling on my knees?

III

For Even with the last thoughts that I have

or the air that I will draw at last

No I will not shout your name.

I will be silent. These too shall pass.
