"Why She Dances"
by:
Aven R. De leon/Virgilio F. De leon Jr.MD
I
Blinding strobe light and pulsating club music
She dances like an uncontrolled Manic
Trying to mask her panic
sweat on her body , her hair slick
II
She grabs another drink to down
And wary looks around
She's drunk , next moment she's on the ground
And her cries for help drowned by the sound
III
Much like the other times she asked for guidance
Sound and sound in abundance
The blinding lights and music put her in a trance
And that is why she dances

Editors Note:
This is the 4th poem that Aven and I collaborated on this November and she was gaining more confidence as she decided to lead on this one. She provided the opening line and I would be the 2nd line for each stanza.
According to Aven this is a poem about a girl who seems to forget her troubles every time she dances.
