"The Non-Linear Medical Journey"

Not all of medical life is linear.
After finishing a particularly challenging mock board exam in my review center a quick glance of the people around me showed a whole cross section of society.
Like in everything Life does get in the way of medical life. People fall in love , get married , raise families. Enter professions that may be medical or non-medical( like in my case,I was a Call boy for 4 years). I say that because I found that some of my classmates are really old. Well ,a lot older than me if that gives off any reference.
One of them have kids the same age as mine ( 7 years old) , some of them just had One , some have children all grown up with degrees all their own.
Families are common and can be the cause of this non-linear journey of medical life but most of the time they are the reason why the journey becomes corrected and straightened.
There are different fulfillment's in each aspect of life and judgement should not be assigned to those who chose one path over the other. Life simply takes you to the path where you are supposed to be. This is not to say that we are merely fish in a current . powerless to go against it but sometimes the pull of the current is so strong that we cannot escape from its grasp.
So I see some of my classmates bringing new borns to be breast fed at the first floor or a 7 year old that turns out to be too active for her moms comfort during a lecture. On the extreme there seems to be a 50+ reviewee who has decided to finally pursue her license. Maybe because all her kids have grown up and it is now her time to follow her own path.We all get there one way or another. Some just take a bit longer.
I am happy that I am not unique in my struggles. I Will be much happier if my struggles produce a license this August. My journey might not be linear but I believe that the path I am taking now will lead me to that place.
