"Empty Graves"
by:
Virgilio F. De leon jr.
I
It was the dead of night
The full moon hidden from my sight
I noticed something amiss
I noticed things were not right
II
I turned left and right
I found nothing but Empty Graves.
I look for the young and the old
There is nothing but the cold
III
And I look to the sky as the moon came out
To see them rise
Alive and Whole
I see them rise
Happy and content
I see them rise
IV
A tear ran across my cheek
They were fine and they were free
And I was left here
among these Empty graves
