Those pretty words linger in my ears

You would find me wherever I am

Yet I find myself in this darkness

And cannot hear you ever near again

You wanted me to feel your heartbeat

The way you promised that it would only beat for me

Yet the cold has gotten to me first

And I find no comfort in the ashes that embrace me

Your smile begins to fade in my mind

Along with that face that I long adored

I reach out into the darkness

And hold on but nothing holds back
