I stood there across the street

Right from where you are

And I thought you would smile

I was fooling myself for awhile

II

And it came rushing back to me

That life that we thought we made

And it all crashing to me

That it was all unmade

III

So I crossed the street

Right in front of you

Not burning in that white rage

But safe in the knowledge that memories fade.
