"I'd Tap that , Yes I would : Mono White Pauper"
by:
Virgilio F. De leon Jr.
Mono White has always been the domain of weenies. Mana efficient costing creatures that always seem to beat down opponents on a more conservative basis but really get the job down slowly but surely.
This deck has the very big distinction of featuring whites most hated abilities. Tapping. Yup , Tap tap tap.
The grind is on and if there are no responses then this deck list is sure to really keep on the pounding:
22 X Plains
4 X Court Street Denizen
4 X Leonin Snarecaster
4 X Azorius Arrester
4 X Seller of Song Birds
4 X Daring SkyJek
2 X Master Diversion

22 Creatures

4 X Last Breath
4 X Fortify
4 X Lyev Decree

So as I already said Detain and Tapping are the greatest strengths of this particular deck and since I normally play test by myself the decks always have an aggressive slant rather than a reactive angle. I tip the scales in that direction.
Leonin Snarecaster, Azorius Arrester, Master Diversion and Court Street Denizen are there to tap and detain anything that lands on your opponents side of the board. It does not matter how many creatures they cast for as long as you can trigger Court Street Denizen again and again you are on your way to victory. Lyev Decree also supports the detain mechanic by tapping bigger creatures.
"Tapping all day long..." |
And just to drive my point across there is a distinct creature advantage here with Seller of Song Birds coming in with a flying 1/1 bird token that would help in triggering the Daring Skyjeks Battalion ability. They would fly.
Last Breathe is to make sure that you have removal for anything that Ethereal armor could attach to in the earlier parts of the game. Celestial Flare for Hexproof critters that have the dreaded enchantment already attached.
"Tap tap...Charge!" |
Fortify makes your opponents pay for not taking any of your creatures seriously. It is an instant spell that gives a stat pump of +2/0 to each of your creatures. Beautiful on Defense for its 0/+2 but more awesome while giving the decisive blow. So the next time someone just snorts at the 1/1 bird that you have just summoned make sure to let them know that little things could as easily poke them in the eye for the win.
