"Proxy time saves time."

With the rising price of Magic cards I can now understand the need for some players to use proxy cards. With more and more decks requiring the same pieces at any given time it makes more sense to own just one original and use proxies as place holders when you use a particular deck.
With that being said when I have proxies made I make sure that these are cards that are something beyond my reach at the moment , may it be because of its price or availability in the market.
So I find it funny when people have proxy of cards that they can buy on the cheap somewhere. Something that is readily available and costs less than the price of the proxy they are having printed. They don't even try to alter it into something else , just the plain old .20 cent card that is readily available somewhere.
Then again as a guy who owns 178 EDH decks I can relate to the fact that I may remember having a particular card but have to go through a mountain of binders and boxes to find that one copy that may or may no longer be there I would rather pay the proxy card printing cast than hurt my back moving cardboard boxes around. Prevents my bones from hurting and saves me time.
