"Speeding on a Sunday"
by:
Virgilio F. De leon Jr.
I
I see the road before me
I let go of the clutch
All my worries go past behind me
Here I go for the rush!
II
The Wind whistles as I pass cars
My opened window on the drivers side
I honk at the oncoming traffic
I just cant slow my ride
III
I turn left and I turn right
I smile at pedestrians as I pass by
I love the acceleration and this speed
It is one of those feelings that never die
IV
There is pleasure in every shift
I love speeding on this Sunday drive
And though I would want this delight to last
With my speed, at my destination, I finally arrive.
Sigh
